12 February 2012: Anna's 10k fundraising run for the GHPP

In order to raise vital funds for the Gurob Harem Palace Project's 2012 fieldwork season Anna Hodgkinson, an archaeologist and surveyor for the GHPP, will be running the Southport Maddog 10k. This event will be taking place on February 12th 2012, just before the Gurob 2012 fieldwork season, which is due to commence in late March. 14 July 2012: Thames Valley Ancient Egypt Society Fund-raising day for GHPP

The TVAES fund-raising day 2012 will be taking place on Saturday 14 July 2012, 10.00-4.30 at the Allen Laboratory, Reading.
The event, which will be hosted by Dr Ian Shaw and Jan Picton is entitled Harem Palaces Unveiled.

29 July 2012: Gurob Harem Palace Project Annual Conference

The 2012 Gurob Harem Palace Project Conference, which is organised jointly with the University of Liverpool Ancient Worlds Summer School, will take place at the University of Liverpool, Abercromby Square on Sunday 29 July 2012, 10.00 – 16.30pm.

Provisional Programme

  1. The latest news from our 2012 fieldwork – Dr Ian Shaw, University of Liverpool.
  2. Gurob in the new Manchester Museum display – Dr Campbell Price, Curator of Egypt & Sudan, Manchester Museum.
  3. Bite-size feedback – updates on current Gurob research topics, e.g. craftwork, domestic religion and royal deification.
  4. Objects in focus in the Garstang Museum – studying Gurob-related objects.
